Sharmela Kalmer

Sharmela Kalmer is a highly experienced legal professional currently working as a Partner at Gowling WLG since November 2022 and simultaneously holding the position of Senior Associate at Withersworldwide since July 2018. With a strong background in intellectual property, information technology, and commercial agreements, Sharmela has advised on complex legal matters including clinical trial agreements, global master service agreements, and various procurement contracts. Previous roles include legal counsel positions at Takeda Pharmaceuticals and sanofi-aventis, as well as serving as an Associate at Fasken Martineau DuMoulin and Kirkland & Ellis LLP, where Sharmela focused on corporate transactions and due diligence for private equity acquisitions. Sharmela holds a Master's Degree in Law and an LL.B (Hons) from King's College London.
