Garrett Poortinga

Garrett Poortinga has a diverse work experience in the field of video production and media development. Garrett has worked as a Lead Video Producer, Senior Media Developer, and Project Manager at GP Strategies Corporation, where they have been responsible for scoping, estimating, executing, and delivering live action video production solutions. Garrett has also collaborated with internal and external stakeholders, created pre-production documentation, and developed interactive video-based solutions.

Additionally, Poortinga has worked as a Video Producer and Photographer at Green Hat Media, LLC, an Adjunct Faculty Instructor at The Media School - Indiana University, and an Associate Faculty at the School of Engineering and Technology, IUPUI. Garrett has also served as a Learning Media Manager at Indiana University Kelley School of Business, overseeing a team of creatives and managing various learning media projects.

Furthermore, Poortinga has gained experience as a Project Manager at the IU Division of Student Affairs, an Associate Instructor at Indiana University, and the Founding President & Treasurer of Indiana All-Media. Garrett has also worked as a Segment Producer for WTIU-TV (PBS) and as a Digital Media and Marketing Consultant at the Center for Research on Learning and Technology at Indiana University. Throughout their career, Poortinga has demonstrated expertise in video production, media development, project management, and digital marketing.

Garrett Poortinga earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Telecommunications and Fine Art Photography from Indiana University Bloomington in 2008. Garrett later obtained a Master of Science degree in Telecommunications Design from the same institution in 2014. In between, they briefly attended the San Francisco Art Institute in 2012 to study Photography.
