Associate Pastor Of Community Life

Operations · Full-time · MD, United States

Job description

OVERVIEW

The Associate Pastor of Community Life will assist in nurturing our family life as a church by creating spaces within our various ministries that foster a sense of love and belonging within our church family. He will assist the Pastor of Community Life in shepherding and caring for our people, teams of volunteers within the Community Life ministry, and through the oversight of various environments that help make belonging both an easier and richer experience so that “the whole body, nourished and knit together through its joints and ligaments, grows with a growth that is from God” (Colossians 2:19).

CHARACTER

He is a spiritually mature believer in a vital, growing relationship with Jesus Christ expressed in a commitment to humble, servant leadership and possesses a heart for the local church and wider kingdom of God.

ABOUT YOU

You are a person who values caring for another’s soul. You seek to be present emotionally and physically for the people of our church, recognizing that you can only care for another’s soul if you are also caring for your own. You believe that you cannot offer living water from a dry well, so you set healthy rhythms and model what it means to be deeply rooted in the love of Jesus. You long for people to not just attend our church, but to also understand what it means to belong to our church family. You are therefore passionate about helping create spaces that foster belonging and help people grow together as disciples of Jesus. You also recognize that this is not something you can do on your own so you’re deeply dependent upon God in prayer and you strive to instill a “DNA of belonging” into our teams of volunteers.  While you could work anywhere, using your gifts for God’s Kingdom gives you the most joy and fulfillment.  Most importantly, you believe the gospel is the most important message ever, so seeing it advanced and lived out in people’s lives is of utmost importance to you.
