Shannon Hanrahan earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Elementary Education and Teaching from Purdue University, where they studied from 2000 to 2004. Later, from 2009 to 2013, they pursued a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Reading Teacher Education at Texas Woman's University.
