Rita Hughley

Rita Hughley has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Rita currently holds the position of Associate Director, Clinical Laboratory at GRAIL since July 2022. Prior to their role at GRAIL, Rita worked at Illumina from 2011 to 2022, where they held various positions including Senior Staff Service Operations Analyst, Staff Process Excellence and Compliance Specialist, Manager of Clinical Laboratory Services, Supervisor of Clinical Whole Genome Sequencing Lab Services, Senior Supervisor of Reagent Manufacturing, Quality Control Supervisor, and Team Lead/Senior Quality Control Associate. Before joining Illumina, Rita worked as a Chemist at Promethean Biofuels from September 2010 to February 2011. Rita also served as a Fiscal Clerk in the United States Marine Corps from August 2001 to August 2009.

Rita Hughley completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Chemistry at The California State University from 2007 to 2010. Rita went on to pursue their Masters of Science degree in Biotechnology at The California State University from 2011 to 2013. In 2017, Rita joined Illumina and trained as a Clinical Genetic Molecular Biology Scientist (CGMBS) for a year, specializing in Molecular Biology.
