Seung Yong Hwang

Seung Yong Hwang is a Senior Biostatistician at GRAIL since October 2022, previously working as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Stanford University, focusing on multi-omics approaches for complex traits and diseases, particularly studying associations between genotype and stroke and venous thromboembolism using whole genome sequencing data. Prior to that, Seung Yong Hwang was a Teaching Assistant and Graduate Student Researcher at the University of California, Davis, where significant contributions included developing methods for threshold estimation in dose-response settings and lecturing various statistical courses. Earlier experience includes a Research Assistant role at Chonbuk National University, specializing in Generalized Extreme Value Theory with Korean climate data. Seung Yong Hwang holds a Ph.D. in Biostatistics, a Master's degree in Statistics, and dual bachelor's degrees in Economics and Applied Statistics, all from Jeonbuk National University and the University of California, Davis.
