Programme Manager, Water & Habitat & Technology at Gram Vikas

Ashutosh Bhat is a Thematic Manager at Gram Vikas, a position they have held since May 2014.

Prior to their current role, Ashutosh served as a Project Trainee in the CSP division at Larsen & Toubro from January to May 2014, where they were responsible for system integration of concentrated solar thermal collectors and ORC for power generation in India. During their time there, they performed thermodynamic analysis of a closed loop ORC system, predicted the process performance at various operating conditions, assessed the performance of heat exchanger and detected pinch points, evaluated various working fluids for the ORC process for different temperature and pressure, optimized the ORC process to maximize the process output, and studied the economics of the ORC process.

Before Larsen & Toubro, Ashutosh spent four months as a Design Engineer at Chowgule Brothers Pvt. Ltd., where they were responsible for studying design, fabrication & construction of cargo ships and barges.

Ashutosh Bhat has a M.Tech. in Renewable Energy Engineering and Management from TERI School of Advanced Studies, a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Mechanical Engineering from Visvesvaraya Technological University, and various certifications from the Institute of Rural Management Anand (IRMA), EPFL (École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne), Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee, GRUNDFOS, and Indian Institute for Human Settlements.

Ashutosh Bhat reports to Liby T. Johnson, Executive Director & Ex-Offico Secretary to the Governing Board. They work with Joseph Kalassery - Project Manager, Pratap Chandra Panda - Thematic Manager, and Jannatun Begum - Programme Manager.
