Amy Golkin Barker

Faculty, Counseling Practicum Supervisor

Amy Golkin Barker, LPC, CPCS is a seasoned mental health professional with extensive experience in counseling and education. As the founder of Roots Wellness Center since July 2018, Amy leads an evidence-based practice that offers individual, group, and family therapy, as well as psychological evaluations and psychiatric services. In addition to this role, Amy has served as a faculty member and counseling practicum supervisor at Grand Canyon University since May 2015 and was previously a faculty member in the Department of Social Sciences at the University of Phoenix from May 2008 to September 2018. Prior clinical experience includes positions as a clinician at Northside Psychological Services from 2006 to December 2016 and as the assistant program director and counselor at North Fulton Treatment Center from 2001 to 2006. Amy holds a Master of Arts in Professional Counseling from Georgia State University and a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Media Studies from the University at Buffalo.
