Andrea Melvin

Collections Curator at Grand Rapids Public Museum

Andrea Melvin is an experienced collections curator and registrar currently employed at the Grand Rapids Public Museum since August 2010. Previously, Andrea held various positions, including Museum Event Assistant at the City of Ottawa and Exhibit Researcher/Writer at the Canadian Museum of History. Additionally, Andrea was the Dr. Margaret Angus Research Fellow at the Museum of Health Care, and worked as a Curatorial/Exhibitions Assistant and Costume & Textiles Collections Assistant at Puke Ariki and District Libraries. Andrea's educational background includes an MA in Public History from Western University and a BA Hons. in Theatre/History from Dalhousie University, along with further studies in British History and Art History at Herstmonceux Castle, UK, and a Diploma in Costume Studies from Dalhousie University.
