Dale Hovenkamp

Partnership and Collaboration Specialist at Grand Rapids Symphony

Dale Hovenkamp has extensive work experience, beginning in 1978 as a Lead Teacher for Business & Industry. From 2003 to 2007, they held the roles of Director of Counseling and Director for Grand Rapids Public Schools. In 2007, they began working as a Principal at City High Middle School, where they developed collaborative community relationships with various organizations, effectively re-organized and re-designed programming, facilitated the development of IB MYP and DP units and assessments, developed and implemented a hybrid curriculum model, and led the school in growth. In 2012, they began working as an Adjunct Instructor for Grand Valley State University. From 2010 to 2014, they worked as an Education Consultant for Dale Hovenkamp. Finally, from 2014 to the present, they have been a Partnership and Collaboration Specialist for the Grand Rapids Symphony.

Dale Hovenkamp completed their Bachelor of Science in Education from Calvin University in 1978. Dale then went on to obtain their Masters in Special Education from Michigan State University in 1986. Dale followed that up with a Masters in Counseling from Western Michigan University in 1998. Dale also has a certification in Counseling from the State of Michigan.
