Laura Aikens

VP, University Development at Grand Valley State University

Laura Aikens is currently the VP of University Development at Grand Valley State University. Laura has over twenty years of experience in the field of development and fundraising, including working with some of the top non-profit institutions in the world.

A native of Chicago, Laura began their career in development with the Adler Planetarium. Laura then spent ten years with CCS, a global firm that provides campaign design and management services to non-profits. During their time at CCS, Laura served as Senior Vice President and worked with a wide variety of clients, including the Archdiocese of Chicago, Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee, Feeding America, and the Michigan Opera Theatre.

In 2009, Laura joined Grand Valley State University as VP of University Development. In this role, they oversee all aspects of the university's fundraising efforts, including capital campaigns, endowment campaigns, and major donor programs. Under Laura's leadership, Grand Valley State University has seen a significant increase in both private giving and alumni participation.

Laura Aiken's educational career began with a Bachelor of Arts from Hope College. Laura then pursued a Master of Social Work at the University of Michigan.
