Merritt Delano Taylor

Professor, Biomedical Sciences & Presidential Fellow at Grand Valley State University

Merritt Delano-Taylor is an accomplished academic with extensive experience in leadership and research within the fields of Biomedical Sciences and Geology at Grand Valley State University since 2007. Currently serving as the interim Department Chair for both Geology and Visual and Media Arts, and previously in roles such as Associate Professor and Assistant Dean, Delano-Taylor's work focuses on curriculum development, resource management, and research initiatives. With a strong background in neural stem cell differentiation, Delano-Taylor actively engages students at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Past positions include Adjunct Faculty at Van Andel Institute and Visiting Scholar at the University of Michigan Medical School, complemented by a Ph.D. in Neuroscience from the University of Michigan Medical School and dual bachelor's degrees in Neuroscience and English from the University of Rochester.
