Ernst Schmidt

Ernst Schmidt is an experienced millwright and electrician with a diverse background in the mining and energy sectors. Currently employed at EVRAZ North America since July 2016, Ernst has also worked with Grande Cache Coal Corp and Tritech Group Ltd. Throughout the career, responsibilities have included calibrating and installing instruments, performing maintenance and repairs on a variety of mining equipment, and managing underground electrical systems. Prior experience includes a significant tenure at Sasol, where Ernst held various certifications in electromechanics and safety achievements. Early career at Eskom involved high-voltage and transformer maintenance, along with extensive experience in faultfinding and circuit design. Ernst Schmidt holds a Grade 12 N3 degree in Electrical and Mechanical from Ligbron High School in South Africa.
