Raphael van Hoffelen

Raphael Van Hoffelen has a diverse work experience that includes roles in software engineering, machine learning operations architecture, and robotics research. Raphael is currently working at Granica as a Senior Software Engineer and Team Lead. Prior to that, they worked at Tempus Ex as a Senior Software Engineer and Data & AI Infrastructure Lead, where they played a key role in building a scalable event aggregator platform for real-time data analysis. Raphael also has experience as an ML Ops Architect Consultant at Watergenics, where they designed and implemented an entire ML production platform. Earlier in their career, they were the Head of Software at IQ Motion Control, where they were responsible for designing and architecting software products. Additionally, Raphael has a background as a semi-professional athlete, representing the British International Men's Saber Fencing team, and worked as a Robotics Research Assistant at the Modular Robotics Lab - GRASP.

Raphael Van Hoffelen holds a Master's degree of Science and Engineering in Robotics from the University of Pennsylvania, which they obtained from 2017 to 2020. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Science in Engineering (BSE) in Mechanical Engineering from the same university, completing their studies from 2015 to 2019. Raphael began their education at the Centre International de Valbone, where they pursued a Baccalauréat Scientifique Option Internationale in Physics and Chemistry, from 2008 to 2015.
