Samuel Cheptou has a diverse work experience in the energy industry, finance, and academia. Samuel is currently the co-founder of Granular Energy since May 2021. Before that, they worked at CSN Energy as a Senior Expert and Product Manager in the energy markets from September 2019 to May 2021. Prior to that, they were a Transactive Energy Manager at METRON, where they designed innovative business models and products to bridge the gap between energy wholesale markets and commercial and industrial consumers. Samuel also served as a Visiting Lecturer at the University of Paris I: Panthéon-Sorbonne in 2018. Earlier in their career, Samuel worked as a Trader at Natixis and later as a Group Internal Audit Manager at BPCE/Natixis.
Samuel Cheptou pursued their education at various institutions. Samuel first attended the Ecole centrale de Lyon from 2007 to 2010, where they obtained a Master's degree in General Engineering. In 2009, they also enrolled at the University of Warwick - Warwick Business School, completing their studies in 2010 and earning a Master of Science degree in Management Science and Operational Research.
In addition to their formal education, Samuel Cheptou also attained two certifications. In 2012, they obtained a Certificate in Quantitative Finance (CQF) from the CQF Institute. Two years later, in 2014, they achieved the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation from the CFA Institute.
