Brenda Williamson

Brenda Williamson, Ed.D. has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Brenda began their career in 1989 at Nortel Networks, where they held roles as a Senior Buyer and later as a Senior Materials Planner. In 1998, they transitioned to CMAC Network Systems, where they worked as a Change Control Manager and then as a Senior Master Scheduler. In 2002, they embarked on a new career path in education and became an Elementary Educator at Vance County Schools. Brenda joined Granville County Public Schools in 2008 as an Academic and Intellectual Gifted Specialist, focusing on curriculum planning and mentoring new teachers. Brenda later served as an Assistant Principal before being promoted to Middle School Principal and then to their current role as Elementary School Principal. Brenda's work experience demonstrates their ability to adapt and excel in different industries and positions.

Brenda Williamson, Ed.D., holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Policy from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, which they obtained from 1981 to 1985. In 2003 to 2004, they pursued Elementary Education and Teaching Licensure at North Carolina Central University. Additionally, in 2008 to 2009, they completed Pastoral Care in Community (PCC) coursework at Duke Divinity School. Brenda furthered their education with a Master of Arts degree in Executive Leadership from Gardner-Webb University from 2014 to 2015. Most recently, they earned a Doctor of Education degree in Organizational Leadership from Gardner-Webb University, completing their studies from 2015 to 2018. Brenda also holds a certification as a National Board Certified Teacher, which they obtained from the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards in November 2011.
