Julian Alcala

Julian Alcala is an accomplished technology leader with extensive experience in cloud engineering and DevOps. Currently serving as the Director of Platform Engineering at Grata since September 2025, Julian previously held the position of Director of Cloud Engineering at SourceScrub from May 2021 to September 2025. Prior roles include Senior Manager of Cloud Engineering and Operations and Software Engineering Manager at Zignal Labs, where responsibilities involved managing a DevOps team and architecting data ingestion solutions. Additional experience includes managing a high-performance DevOps team at Conversant, Inc. and as DevOps Manager at SET Media Inc., where Julian focused on infrastructure as code and the reliability of production services. Early career highlights include roles as a Systems Engineer at Containertrac and as a Linux Systems Administrator at Google, contributing to significant projects like the integration of Blogger and Keyhole into Google infrastructure.
