With more than 20 years of experience at Gray, David is responsible for leading our Pre-Construction team in developing systems and procedures for the creation of clear, concise, accurate, and professional estimates, schedules, and scopes of work for potential customers. David’s team works alongside the customer to assist in defining their project and bringing it to reality. Whether this starts with site analysis support, early programming, conceptual design, process equipment general arrangement plans, detailed design, equipment procurement, and installation or final design, David’s team leads and guides the customer through the process to help drive out risk and provide line of sight to schedule and cost guidelines.
David started as a design manager, then transitioned to a project manager and regional manager, and ultimately to his current position, thus he has a wealth of cross-functional, interdependent experience to provide to others. David also has a focus on Gray’s continuing development of internal data management and dashboarding. Through the creation of an open data landscape within the organization, he is leading the effort, with his team, to capture the data and dashboard it to eliminate redundant work efforts and inform better decision-making. David’s expertise has been critical to several key projects such as Caterpillar in Winston-Salem, Caterpillar in Athens, Ga., Kubota in Gainesville, Ga., and Sofidel’s first greenfield facility in the U.S. located in Circleville, Ohio, among others.
When he’s not working, David enjoys running in marathons and half marathons, reading historical fiction, traveling, and drawing architectural sketches.
