Robert Bernard

Robert Bernard is the current Director at Great Plains Bank. Prior to this, they were the Senior Director of Global Information Security for GameStop from February 2013 to February 2016. Before that, they were the Manager of Security Operations for Ally Financial from January 2007 to December 2013. In this role, they led a team of 8 security analysts, engineers and architects that supported intrusion prevention, web filtering, firewall, SIEM, DAM, malware mitigation and DDoS mitigation services. Robert also managed numerous 3rd party outsourced suppliers who provided security services for Ally, including creation of statements of work, SLAs and contracts. Additionally, they created a monitoring program that tied over 4000 devices to our enterprise SIEM and established alerts, reports, thresholds and integration with various infrastructure teams for remediation of issues. Other notable accomplishments include leading the effort for creation of an internal 24x7 Security Operations Center and implementing DDoS mitigation services for high risk sites. Robert also creates and presents monthly metrics around security operations for CISO and CIOs. In their previous role as Manager of Security Operations for Ally Financial, they also led the network security design of a new data center from the ground up, implementing new security strategies and products and managing a multi-million dollar budget. Robert has also been responsible for drafting of corporate information security policies and leading data center migration efforts.

Robert Bernard's educational career includes earning a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Oklahoma State University.
