Amy Shoemaker Leavy Phr

Amy Shoemaker Leavy, PHR, SHRM-CP has extensive experience in various leadership roles in Human Resources and strategic planning. Amy started their career as the Vice President of Human Resources and Training at Knight Ridder, where they led a team of HR professionals and negotiated union contracts. Amy later served as the Vice President of People Services at Cox Communications, overseeing HR, training, and risk management for multiple locations. Amy then joined K·Coe Isom, where they held positions such as Director of Talent Development and Director of People Growth Strategies, providing strategic HR services and executive coaching. Amy also founded their own business, Amy L Shoemaker Partnerships, LLC, offering leadership solutions and HR consulting. Recently, Amy worked as the SVP of Culture and Strategy at Denver International Airport and served as the HR Director at Great Plains Manufacturing, leading diverse teams and driving growth and employee engagement. Throughout their career, Amy has demonstrated a strong focus on diversity and inclusion, as well as a commitment to creating performance management systems and fostering organizational growth.

Amy Shoemaker Leavy, PHR, SHRM-CP, completed their Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) in Executive Master Business Administration from Wichita State University from 2008 to 2010. In 2002, they participated in the Human Resource Executive Program at Stanford University Graduate School of Business. Additionally, they attended workshops at Cornell University for Inclusive Workplaces and The University of Toledo, where they obtained a BBA in Human Resources Management.

Amy Shoemaker Leavy also holds several certifications. In 2021, they obtained the Professional in Human Resources® (PHR®) certification from HRCI. Amy received the SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) certification from SHRM in 2015. Furthermore, they obtained the Certified Associate certification from Emergenetics International in 2013. In the same year, they also obtained the Certified Associate, CPI 260 Leadership Assessment certification from CPP, Inc. Amy holds the Certified Master Coach certification from the Behavioral Coaching Institute, which they obtained in 2011.
