Mike Knofczynski

Mike Knofczynski is a Power Plant Engineer with extensive experience in project management and capital planning within the energy sector. Currently employed at Great River Energy since March 2023, Mike serves as a scheduled outage supervisor and cap-ex project manager. Prior to this role, Mike worked at Montana-Dakota Utilities Co. from August 2016 to March 2023, where significant contributions included the completion of a $650k AVR modernization project on schedule. Mike's earlier experiences include a Generation Engineering internship at MidAmerican Energy Company, focused on engineering and cost analysis for transitioning fuel sources, as well as a Computer Repair Technician role at South Dakota State University and a Transmission Engineering internship at East River Electric Cooperative. Mike holds a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from South Dakota State University, completed in 2016.
