Mike Saer

Manager, Transmission Policy at Great River Energy

Mike Saer is an experienced professional in transmission policy advocacy, currently serving as the Manager of Transmission Policy at Great River Energy since September 2008. In this role, Mike is responsible for advocating at the Midcontinent Independent System Operator (MISO) and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC). Prior positions at Great River Energy include Transmission Policy Program Manager, where Mike managed advocacy efforts, and Transmission Strategist, focusing on the development of transmission policy positions. Earlier in Mike's career, roles included Senior Business Development Analyst, managing corporate projects and writing a business plan for an ethanol biorefinery, and Business Analyst at Wells Fargo, where Mike created business cases and conducted comprehensive analyses. Mike holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Policy from the University of Michigan and a Master of Arts in Economics from Syracuse University.
