Managing Director, Tech Economy Initiatives at Greater Cleveland Partnership

Courtney DeOreo has extensive work experience in various roles and organizations. Courtney currently serves as the Managing Director of Tech Economy Initiatives at Greater Cleveland Partnership, a position they have held since August 2022. Prior to this, they worked at the same organization as the Executive Director of RITE / Sr. Director Tech Talent from January 2019 to October 2022.

Before joining Greater Cleveland Partnership, Courtney was a Special Projects Consultant and Staff member at Lorain County Community College from March 2010 to December 2018. Courtney also worked at Great Lakes Biomimicry Collaborative as a Resource Development & Grants professional from August 2011 to October 2016. Furthermore, they founded and served as a Consultant at Commonwealth Services, Inc. from January 2009 to August 2016.

Courtney's earlier experiences include working as a Staff member at Entrepreneurs for Sustainability from 2004 to 2009, serving as the Co-Finance Director at Citizens for a Clean Ohio from June 2008 to December 2008, and working as the Director of Development at University Circle Incorporated from 2000 to 2004.

Courtney started their career at United Way Services, where they were an Assistant Campaign Director from April 1994 to April 2000. Prior to that, they worked as a Job Developer and Fundraising Coordinator at Cleveland Works from April 1992 to March 1994. Courtney also gained experience as a Department Manager at May Company from April 1991 to April 1992.

Courtney DeOreo attended Miami University from 1984 to 1988, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Organizational Communication. In August 2019, they obtained a certification in Unconscious Bias from LinkedIn.
