Maria Shurik, SHRM-CP, has a diverse work experience spanning multiple organizations and roles. Maria began their career in 2009 as a Research Assistant at Cleveland State University, where they analyzed employment data for metropolitan areas. In 2011, they joined Miami-Dade County as a Clerk, conducting internal audits, maintaining reporting efforts, and developing Standard Operating Procedures. Maria returned to Cleveland State University in 2012 as a Graduate Assistant, providing administrative assistance for a federal grant program and collaborating on website development. Maria then interned with Greater Cleveland RTA in 2013 before joining Cleveland State University again as a Graduate Assistant in 2013-2014. Since 2014, Maria has been with the Greater Cleveland RTA, where they have held positions as a Business Analyst, Staff Auditor, HRIS Specialist, Labor and Employee Relations Specialist, and currently as the Manager of Employee Development. Their experience at GCRTA includes rotating through each major department, completing major projects, and gaining a thorough understanding of the organization and transit industry. Throughout their work experience, Maria has demonstrated strong analytical skills, administrative capabilities, and a commitment to professional development in the HR field.
Maria Shurik, SHRM-CP, holds a Master's degree in Public Administration, which they obtained from Cleveland State University from 2012 to 2014. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of the Arts degree in Urban Studies and Policy Analysis at Cleveland State University from 2008 to 2010.
In addition to their academic achievements, Maria Shurik has obtained the SHRM-CP certification from SHRM in February 2021. Maria has successfully demonstrated their knowledge and expertise in human resource management through this certification.
