Ben Woods

Ben Woods is a seasoned professional in project management and architectural design, currently serving as Project Director at the Greater London Authority, focusing on the redevelopment of the Crystal Palace National Sports Centre since 2023. Prior to this role, Ben held the position of Head of Capital Projects at the UK Civil Service from 2014 to 2023, overseeing construction delivery for significant events such as the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games. Ben's experience includes serving as Project Sponsor for the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park from 2008 to 2014, where work included the London 2012 Olympic Games and subsequent venue transformations. Earlier in the career, Ben worked as an Architect at Sport England, Haworth Tompkins Architects, and EPR Architects from 1997 to 2008, focusing on sports, leisure, and residential developments. Ben holds a BA Hons (Arch) and DipArch from The University of Sheffield, along with a Professional Practice Qualification (RIBA) from London South Bank University.
