Rachel Berman

Rachel Berman is a Principal - Research (Environment) at Greater Manchester Combined Authority since June 2021, where responsibilities include supporting an environment research program, leading research efforts, and advising senior officers on environmental matters. Prior roles include Impact Officer at The University of Manchester, where contributions were made towards the UK REF 2021, and Knowledge Exchange and Impact Officer in the Faculty of Humanities. Rachel's past experience also encompasses product development and area management in tourism, postdoctoral research in socio-ecology and environmental policy at The University of Edinburgh, and postgraduate research focusing on climate variability at the Sustainability Research Institute. Educational qualifications include a Ph.D. in Sustainability - Environment and Development, an MSc in Sustainability, and a BSc in Earth Systems Science, all from the University of Leeds.
