Chris Tomlin

VP, Development at Greater Philadelphia YMCA

Chris Tomlin is the VP of Development at the Greater Philadelphia YMCA. Chris has over 15 years of experience in the nonprofit sector, with a focus on development and fundraising.


Tomlin began their career as a district executive with the Cradle of Liberty Council, Boy Scouts of America, in 2001. In this role, they were responsible for providing leadership and support to scout groups in Philadelphia. In 2005, they were promoted to development director with the Greater New York Councils, Boy Scouts of America. In this role, they oversaw all fundraising activities for the council.


In 2007, Tomlin left the Boy Scouts of America to become the director of development for the Philadelphia Zoo. Chris was responsible for leading the zoo's fundraising efforts and overseeing its capital campaign. Chris left the zoo in 2012 to join the Greater Philadelphia YMCA as VP of Development.


Tomlin has been instrumental in growing the YMCA's donor base and increasing its fundraising revenue. Under their leadership, the YMCA has seen significant growth in both membership and programmatic offerings.


Chris Tomlin has a bachelor's degree from Kutztown University of Pennsylvania.


Chris Tomlin reports to Shaun Elliott, President & CEO. They are on a team with Lauren Bacigalupi - CMO, Katie Duffus - Executive Director, Rocky Run, and Justin Spencer-Linzie - Executive Director, West Philadelphia.
