As a local to Greater Phoenix, Nikhil Dave is both deeply connected to the region and passionately committed to advancing it. Through his work as a GPEC fellow, he supports the organization on a variety of topics with a specific focus in life sciences.
His professional career began at the age of 14, when he studied Alzheimer’s disease in a research lab at Arizona State University. Seven years later, he graduated ASU as a Flinn Scholar with Bachelor Degrees in Neuroscience and Innovation in Society and a Masters of Science in Biology. Throughout his time at ASU, he published numerous primary- and secondary-author publications, and filed multiple patents.
Beyond his technical background in life sciences, Nikhil has been recognized as a leader and innovator. In 2020, Nikhil was appointed by Former Governor Doug Ducey to serve a two-year term on the Arizona Board of Regents. He served on the Research and Health Sciences Committee and as the Assistant Treasurer. Nikhil also led numerous projects and partnerships between ASU and private/public organizations as a foundational member of the Luminosity Lab at ASU. During his tenure at Luminosity, he led a team to win a $1M XPRIZE, an international innovation competition.
Currently, Nikhil is an active member of a U.S. National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Mathematics workshop planning committee focused on the convergence of AI and biology in South and Southeast Asia.
