As Greater Phoenix Economic Council’s Vice President of Marketing & Communications, Serena oversees the marketing team, cross-department marstrat taskforce, and organization-wide digital strategies. She is responsible for GPEC’s owned and paid media channels, including the website, chat, search engine optimization (SEO), social media; display, PPC, and social advertising; and marketing automation. With these channels, she oversees the essential functions of online lead generation, campaign development, user experience, and marketing analytics. Serena is passionate about building a holistic brand identity with conversion-focused marketing strategies through user-first content and data-driven optimizations. In her two-year tenure, Serena has elevated the organization’s marketing sophistication by launching the first trigger-based lead generation marketing campaigns, the first web chat feature, and the first omnichannel campaign #AZFreeToBe, which has been recognized for excellence in integrated marketing tactics by the AzAPA, AMA, PRSA, AZIMA, Ragan, and MarCom Awards.
Serena received her BFA from the Herberger Institute at ASU and began her career in digital marketing at a local, organic social media marketing startup. She has since worked in agencies, in-house, and freelanced within paid, earned, and owned media specialties, supporting and managing digital strategy across a range of businesses and industries, both B2B and B2C focused.
