Senior Vice President, PR & Communications at Greater Sum Ventures

Kristin Alm has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Kristin began their career as an Editorial Assistant at Touring East Tennessee magazine from 1994 to 1996. Kristin then worked as the Public Relations & Marketing Director at Esau, Inc. Event Promotion & Management from 1996 to 2001. Following that, they served as the Public Relations Manager at Goodys from 2001 to 2008.

In 2008, Alm joined Scripps Networks Interactive, where they held multiple roles. As the Manager from 2008 to 2013, they oversaw the daily internal communications program and managed public relations agencies. Later, as the Director of Corporate Communications, they orchestrated strategic industry media relations, built relationships with key journalists, and directed press outreach for various divisions within the company. Alm also led the company's presence on social media platforms and oversaw the company speakers bureau, executive biographies, and industry marketing initiatives.

In 2018, Alm joined Discovery Inc as the Senior Director of Corporate Communications. In this role, they supervised a team responsible for industry news monitoring, corporate social media platforms, and fan relations. Kristin managed earned media campaigns for HGTV home giveaway programs and cultivated relationships with journalists at national outlets.

Most recently, Alm is currently serving as the Senior Vice President of PR & Communications at Greater Sum Ventures since November 2019. Greater Sum Ventures is a growth equity firm and entrepreneurial family office that invests in middle-market software and tech-enabled services companies.

Kristin Alm holds a Master of Science in Communications/Public Relations from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, which they obtained in 2002. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in English/Communications at Tusculum University in 1995.
