Gyula Szabolcs FEKETE

Gyula Szabolcs Fekete has a strong background in GIS (Geographic Information System) and technology consulting. Before joining The World Bank, Gyula worked at Budapest Kozut Zrt. as a Senior GIS consultant of CTO from February 2013. In this role, they were responsible for designing and managing Budapest's MLS LIDAR based 3D GIS solution (RODIS), which was used for road design, asset management, transportation infrastructure management, and data mining applications. Gyula played a crucial role in creating a detailed 3D GDB for city modeling, BIM, and 3D GIS applications, making Budapest the first city fully covered with MLS high-resolution mobile LIDAR data.

Prior to their work at Budapest Kozut Zrt., Gyula worked as a GIS and Quality Engineering consultant for the UN from March 2010 to January 2017. Gyula Szabolcs also held the position of Business Developer Manager at Clearvision Kft. from 2008 to 2010.

Gyula's earlier experience includes working as the MGCP (Multinational Geospatial Co-Production Program) Technical Responsible at the MoD Zrinyi Mapping and Communication Servicing Non-profit Ltd., Hungary, from January 2006 to September 2008. In this role, they were responsible for local technical control and international communication between partner nations. Gyula Szabolcs was also a member of various technical groups and subgroups within the MGCP.

Gyula started their career at Eurosense Kft. in November 2000, where they worked as a Project Manager until January 2003. Gyula Szabolcs was responsible for photoflights, digital orthophoto, and 2D and 3D digital mapping production. Gyula Szabolcs also participated in government and EU tendering processes.

Following this, they pursued further studies at Nyugat-Magyarországi Egyetem from 1997 to 2000. At this institution, they earned a Bachelor of Science degree with a focus on GIS Engineering, Remote Sensing, and Digital Photogrammetry. Lastly, in 2000, they attended Delft University of Technology, where they obtained a Master's degree in GIS and digital photogrammetry.
