Assistant Special Teams Coach at Green Bay Packers

The Green Bay Packers hired Byron Storer as assistant special teams coach on Feb. 15, 2022.

Storer is entering his ninth season as an NFL coach, including his eighth coaching special teams. He joins the Packers after four seasons with the Raiders as an assistant special teams coach (2018-21). In 2021, Las Vegas ranked No. 11 in Rick Gosselin's NFL special teams rankings and K Daniel Carlson set franchise records for field-goal percentage (94.3 pct., 33-35) and most points scored in a single season (150), surpassing his own mark of 144 points in 2020. The Raiders also saw P AJ Cole earn a spot in the Pro Bowl as well as be named first-team All-Pro by The Associated Press and All-NFL by the Pro Football Writers of America after leading the league with a gross punting average of 50.0 yards. Storer spent two years with the San Diego Chargers, first as a special teams assistant (2012) and then as an assistant linebackers coach (2013). He began his coaching career as an assistant special teams coach for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2010-11). Storer played fullback and on special teams for the Buccaneers (2007-09) before an injury ended his playing career.
