Karen Segura Duarte

Karen Segura Duarte has a diverse work experience in various roles. Karen began their career at Restaurante 13 Cielos in 2015 as an Assistant Cook, where they gained experience in different kitchen areas and inventory management. In 2016, they worked at Catamundi as a Baker, responsible for production, baking, and decoration of pastries. Karen also assisted in the formation and baking of French-style bread and managed inventory and purchasing requests.

From 2017 to 2020, Karen worked at "@GinaSommelier," serving as a Corporate Sommelier, Assistant Director, and Event Coordinator. Karen'sresponsibilities included planning and logistics for food and wine events, providing consulting and training to restaurant staff, and assisting in coordinating wine courses.

In 2021, Karen engaged in freelance work for Chilango, where they contributed to the Gastronomy and Travel section. Karen'sresponsibilities involved visiting various restaurants, bars, and consumption centers, conducting research, and writing reviews and articles about gastronomic experiences in Mexico City.

Currently, Karen works at Greenpark Digital as a Content Writer. Karen creates medical content for SANOFI Mexico and gastronomic content for Unilever Food Solutions in Mexico, Colombia, and Central America. Karen'stasks include research on industry-relevant topics, keyword selection, and content creation.

Karen Segura Duarte has a diverse educational background in the field of gastronomy and culinary arts. Karen pursued a Bachelor's degree in Gastronomy and Food Sciences from Centro de Estudios Superiores de San Ángel, which they completed from 2014 to 2018. During their undergraduate studies, Karen also undertook specialized training in wine expertise and obtained the certification of Certified Wine Sommelier from Asociación de Sommeliers Mexicanos in 2016 and 2017.

In 2019, they furthered their education by pursuing a Master's degree in Creative and Literary Appreciation from Centro de Cultura Casa Lamm, A.C., which they successfully completed in 2020. During the same year, Karen attended a workshop on Gastronomic Journalism at CESSA Universidad to enhance their skills in this specific field.

Most recently, in 2022 and 2023, Karen Segura Duarte enrolled in a diploma program offered by Asociación de Sommeliers Mexicanos. This program focused on distilled beverages, beer, and infusions, providing their with specialized knowledge in these areas.
