Gary Raphael

Gary Raphael has a comprehensive and extensive work experience in the risk management and insurance industry. Gary is currently serving as the Senior Vice President of Risk Mitigation Strategy at Green Shield Risk Solutions since June 2023. Prior to this, Gary founded GateHouse Risk Advisory LLC in February 2015 and led the company until June 2023. At GateHouse, they provided expert advisory services to high net worth individuals and families, addressing a variety of risks such as natural disasters, information security, and collections management.

In 2018, Gary worked as a Senior Vice President at TorchStone Global, where they collaborated with wealthy families and corporate clients to identify and mitigate physical and digital security risks. Before joining TorchStone, they held multiple roles at ACE Private Risk Services from 2008 to 2014, including SVP of the Risk Consulting Group and SVP of Claims. In these positions, Gary managed claim settlements, led loss prevention practices, and established the claims brand for a carrier new to the high net worth space.

Gary also gained experience at Fireman's Fund Insurance Company as the VP of Risk Management Advisory Services from 2007 to 2008, and at AIG Private Client Group as the VP of Risk Management from 2000 to 2007. At AIG, they designed and administered a pre-loss service platform for high net worth clients worldwide.

Furthermore, Gary served as the Regional Manager at PLI Brokerage from 1998 to 2000 and held the position of Manager at Chubb Insurance from 1988 to 1998.

Gary Raphael attended Babson College from 1984 to 1988, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance/Investments. From 1994 to 1995, they studied at the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), but did not earn a degree or specialize in a specific field. In terms of additional certifications, Gary received the following: Antiterrorist Defensive Driving and Surveillance Detection from International Training Inc in March 2000, Continuing Education Instructor from Virginia Insurance Continuing Education Board in November 2007, All Lines Adjuster from the Texas Department of Insurance in April 2001, and Insurance Agent, Property & Casualty from the Maryland Insurance Administration in November 1998.
