Mare Straetmans

Mare Straetmans is an accomplished entrepreneur and leader in the maritime, energy, and climate sectors, currently serving as the Founder of Platform Zero since March 2021, focusing on reducing emissions and promoting the hydrogen economy. Straetmans is also a Board Member at Rotterdam Maritime Capital of Europe and has founded Green Swan Partners LLC, a venture builder dedicated to environmental improvement. Previous positions include Director of Ocean Health and Digital Transformation at Van Oord, Advisory Board Member at OceanOps, and Managing Director at PortXL, a global port startup accelerator. Straetmans has extensive experience in corporate strategy with the Port of Rotterdam and has contributed to local sports initiatives as a board member of Rotterdam Basketball. Educational credentials include a Master of Science in Business Administration from Erasmus University Rotterdam.
