Elizabeth Hood, PhD has extensive work experience in the field of plant biotechnology and enzyme production. Elizabeth is currently the Founder and Director of Research and Development at GreenLab, Inc., a biotech startup focused on using plant biotechnology to create sustainable and scalable protein and enzyme production. Prior to this, they served as a Distinguished Professor of Agriculture at Arkansas State University, where their research focused on enzyme production in corn seeds for biomass deconstruction. Elizabeth also held the position of Chief Scientific Officer at Infinite Enzymes, a plant biotechnology company that specialized in producing industrial enzymes in plant biofactories. Elizabeth was responsible for developing cellulases for the biomass to biofuels market. Additionally, Elizabeth worked as a Program Director at the National Science Foundation and served as the VP Technology at ProdiGene.

Elizabeth Hood, PhD obtained their high school diploma from Putnam City High School in the years 1967 to 1970. Elizabeth then pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from the University of Oklahoma between 1972 and 1974. Continuing their education, they completed their PhD in Plant Biology at Washington University in St. Louis from 1981 to 1985.
