Narendran Sekar

Narendran Sekar is a Senior Scientist and Head of Process Development at GreenLight Biosciences, with a strong background in RNA and DNA manufacturing processes. Since joining the company in October 2016, Narendran has led teams to optimize processes for the linearization of plasmid DNA and the production of RNA, overseeing high-throughput production and troubleshooting manufacturing challenges. With experience in fermentation and cell-free reaction process development, Narendran has contributed to the successful production of numerous mRNA vaccine candidates and managed resources effectively for on-time project delivery. Narendran holds a PhD in Biological and Agricultural Engineering from the University of Georgia, an MS in Biotechnology from Anna University, and a B.Tech in Pharmaceutical Technology from the same institution. Prior to GreenLight, Narendran gained extensive research experience in bioengineering and synthetic biology through various academic and research roles.
