Ron Flannagan

Vice President Of Research, Plant Health at GreenLight Biosciences

Ron Flannagan has an extensive career starting in 1997 at Pioneer Hi-Bred International Inc, where they held roles as a Post-Doctoral Fellow, Senior Research Associate, and Research Scientist. Ron then transitioned to Monsanto where they held various roles including Coleopteran Trait Lead, Insect Control Platform Lead, Global Corn Insect Platform Lead, and Research Fellow. Following their time at Monsanto, they joined Bayer Crop Science as the Regional Agronomy Lead for Iowa. In 2019, they joined GreenLight Biosciences, Inc. as the Director of R&D Discovery and Technical Portfolio, and later became the Vice President of Research, Plant Health in 2021. Throughout their career, Ron has leveraged their more than 20 years of experience in the agricultural industry to drive innovation, develop partnerships, and deliver sustainable products to the marketplace.

Ron Flannagan completed their Bachelor of Science in Biotechnology at the University of Northern Iowa from 1987 to 1991. Ron then went on to pursue a PhD in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology at The Ohio State University, completing the program from 1991 to 1997.
