Jessica Porta has a diverse work experience in various industries and roles. Jessica is currently the Director of Operations at GreenPlaces since November 2022. Prior to this, they worked as an Adjunct Professor at North Carolina State University from August 2022 to December 2022. Before that, they served as the Chief Strategist at Founded Communities from November 2021 to November 2022. Jessica also held positions at Raleigh Founded, including Executive Director from January 2018 to June 2022 and Director of Community & Operations from July 2015 to January 2018. Jessica was an Organizer at the NORTH CAROLINA COMMISSION OF INQUIRY ON TORTURE from April 2015 to December 2017. Additionally, they owned their own consulting business, BlueDot Development Consulting, from January 2015 to December 2017. Jessica worked in the Anti-Human Trafficking unit at The Salvation Army from March 2013 to May 2015. Jessica also worked as an Intern at Utrecht University from 2012 to 2013, where they collaborated with Dr. Anja Mihr on restorative and transitional justice research. Jessica started their career as a Program Associate at International Focus from January 2012 to December 2012.
Jessica Porta attended Penn State University from 2007 to 2010, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Politics and Art History. Jessica later pursued their Masters of International Studies in Human Rights at North Carolina State University from 2011 to 2012.
