Greenstone Gold Mines
Jon Robinson is an experienced health and safety professional with a robust background in various roles across reputable organizations. Currently serving as Health and Safety Coordinator at Greenstone Gold Mines since September 2022, Jon previously held similar positions at Kirkland Lake Gold from February 2021 to October 2022 and at De Beers Group of Companies at the Victor Mine from June 2014 to December 2020. Additional experience includes serving as Safety, Health & Risk Supervisor, Emergency First Responder, Deputy Chief of ERT, and various training roles at De Beers from September 2012 to December 2020. Earlier career highlights include a tenure as Fire Chief at Red Rock Fire Department from February 2007 to December 2010 and a lengthy role as Process Operator at Norampac from January 1989 to November 2007. Jon pursued education at the University of New Brunswick, obtaining further qualifications in heavy equipment mechanics from Confederation College and earned a high school diploma from Nip-Rock High School.

Greenstone Gold Mines
On May 13, 2024, Equinox Gold consolidated its ownership of the Greenstone Mine (from 60% to 100%), along with the Kenogamisis, Brookbank, and Viper Properties. Greenstone Mine will be one of Canada’s largest gold mines, with annual production estimated at 400,000 ounces of gold for the first five years and on average 360,000 ounces of gold per year over an initial 14-year mine life. There are also numerous opportunities to both increase annual production and extend the mine life by increasing throughput, enlarging the open pit and developing both underground and near-mine deposits. Greenstone Mine will be a flagship asset for Equinox Gold and will be transformative for the Geraldton area in Ontario, generating employment, fostering business growth, and contributing to community development for the foreseeable future.
