Herb Archer

Chief, Department Of Medicine at Greenwich Hospital

Herb Archer has an extensive work experience in the medical field. Herb began their career as a Resident in Internal Medicine at Columbia University Medical Center in 2005 and completed their residency in 2008. From 2008 to 2010, they worked as a Hospitalist at Milford Hospital. In 2011, they joined Northeast Medical Group as a Hospitalist and later became the Director of Hospital Medicine. During their time at Northeast Medical Group, they also served as the Chair of the Yale New Haven Health System Hospitalist Committee in 2016 and 2017, and as a Board Member from 2015 to 2017. In 2020, they joined Greenwich Hospital as the Chief of the Department of Medicine and in 2024, they will start working as a Physician at Greenwich Medical Partners. Additionally, they have been an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Medicine at New York Medical College since 2012.

Herb Archer obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Biochemistry from Cornell University from 1994 to 1998. Herb then pursued further education at Stony Brook University Health Sciences Center School of Medicine, where they earned a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) and a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry, completing their studies from 1998 to 2005. Lastly, they participated in the Executive Education program at the Yale School of Management, specifically the Yale Medical Group Advanced Emerging Leaders Program, from 2014 to 2016.
