Alexis Offen

Alexis Offen has a diverse work experience, beginning with their role as a Community Relations Liaison at New York University in 2002. Alexis later worked as a Deputy Public Policy Director for Andrew Cuomo for Attorney General in 2005. In 2006, they joined Greenberg Traurig LLP, where they worked as a Lawyer in the Government Affairs and Real Estate divisions until 2009.

Offen then transitioned to the public sector, joining the New York City Mayor's Office of Operations as a Policy Advisor from 2009 to 2010, followed by a promotion to Senior Policy Advisor from 2010 to 2012. In 2012, they became Counsel and Senior Policy Advisor, overseeing strategy, policy, and implementation of Bloomberg administration initiatives.

In 2013, Offen moved to Empire State Development, where they served as the Vice President of Real Estate Development. In this role, they oversaw a statewide portfolio of real estate assets, managed the Queens West Development Corporation, and represented the State on the Lower Manhattan Development Corporation. Alexis held this position until 2017.

Afterwards, Offen joined the Trust for Governors Island as the Chief Operating Officer. In their role, they managed various functions, including real estate, design and construction, operations, legal, and strategic planning. Alexis also developed and directed the Trust's amenities program.

In 2019, Offen started their independent consulting firm, Alexis Offen Consulting. As the Principal, they supported mission-driven organizations with strategic planning, community and multi-stakeholder engagement, and project management services. Their current clients include UJA Federation of New York and the Long Island City Partnership.

Most recently, Offen joined Greenwich House as the Chief Operations and Strategy Officer in 2021.

Alexis Offen attended Harvard University from 1997 to 2000, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Government. From 2003 to 2006, they pursued their legal education at Fordham University School of Law and obtained a Juris Doctor (JD) degree. In 2010, Alexis Offen attended Coro Leadership New York for a year, although the degree name and field of study are unknown.
