Sara Lorenz Taki

Dr. Sara Lorenz Taki is the medical director of Greenwich House’s Methadone Maintenance Treatment Program. She oversees all health services, including the utilization of medications for opioid use disorder, hepatitis C treatment, overdose prevention, psychiatric services, and the Greenwich House COVID-19 vaccination program.

Dr. Taki is committed to bringing life-saving methadone and buprenorphine treatment to people with opioid addiction and to fighting stigma. She provides evidence-based, patient-centered addiction treatment to patients in all stages of recovery. Dr. Taki strives to lower barriers to care so that all who need treatment can access it.

Dr. Taki obtained her medical degree from the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. She is board-certified in addiction medicine and internal medicine. She currently serves on the Clinical Advisory Panel for OASAS and the Substance Use Guidelines Committee for the New York State Department of Health AIDS Institute. She is a member of the American Society of Addiction Medicine and a frequent speaker for the Empire Liver Foundation on hepatitis c treatment in people who use drugs. Dr. Taki trains healthcare providers from multiple medical institutions on the treatment of opioid use disorder.
