Deborah Simpson has extensive work experience in the education sector. Deborah is currently working at Greenwood Academies Trust as an Assistant Head Teacher CL for Science. Prior to that, they held the position of Senior Leader - Science at the same organization. Deborah also worked as an Assessment Associate at Pearson for over a decade. Deborah has also served as the Head of Science and Technology Faculty at David Ross Education Trust, 2nd in Charge Science at Thomas Deacon Academy Trust, and Head of Social Sciences Faculty at Thomas Clarkson Academy. In addition, they briefly worked as a Teacher at Engage Education.
Deborah Simpson completed their education in a sequential manner, starting from their earliest academic experience. In 1983, they attended Usworth School in Washington, Tyne & Wear, where they studied Biology. Following this, they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry and Genetics from the University of Leeds, graduating in 1993. Deborah furthered their studies at the same institution and obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Biochemistry in 1999. During this period, from 1998 to 1999, they also attended Northern College in Aberdeen, where they completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) with a focus on Science, including Biology.
