John Alexander Manore

John Alexander Manore has a strong background in geospatial information systems (GIS) and remote sensing. John Alexander'swork experience begins in 2013 with a role as a GIS Technician at Statistics Canada, where they updated and maintained the National Geographic Database.

In 2014, they worked as a Geomatics Technician at Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, processing remote sensing data and conducting analysis to support agricultural projects.

From 2015 to 2015, they served as a GIS and Conflict Mapping Assistant at the Ontario Ministry of Indigenous Relations and Reconciliation, producing maps for land claim negotiations and providing spatial analysis support for various projects.

Starting in 2017, John worked as a GIS Specialist at Ducks Unlimited Canada, focusing on wetland conservation and restoration. John Alexander collaborated closely with engineering staff, created field apps for data collection, and produced maps to support wetland restoration efforts and public relations.

In 2019, they joined International Landscaping Inc. as a GIS Manager, where they established their GIS department from the ground up. John Alexander digitized and managed geodatabases for over 60 commercial properties, developed apps for field staff, and leveraged geospatial data and technology to improve landscape maintenance.

Most recently, John held the position of Intermediate Geospatial Manager at MapYourProperty from 2022 to 2023, before transitioning to their current role as a GIS Project Manager at Greenwood Sustainable Infrastructure.

John Alexander Manore earned a Bachelor's Degree in Geography and Environmental Management from the University of Waterloo, where they studied from 2011 to 2016. In addition, they hold a Level 1 Instructor certification from the Canadian Association of Snowboard Instructors.
