Susan Dalen

Program Director, Structured Skills Center & Early Childhood Program at Gresham-Barlow School District 10J

Susan Dalen has been working in the field of education for over two decades. Susan started their career as a resource specialist and special ed department chair in the Dry Creek Joint Elementary School District. In 2008, they transitioned to the Eureka Unified School District, where they worked as an inclusion specialist. In 2012, Dalen became the director of clinical services at Easterseals Bay Area. In their current role as program director at Gresham-Barlow School District 10J, Dalen oversees the structured skills center and early childhood program. Throughout their career, Dalen has been committed to helping all students reach their full potential.

Susan Dalen attended the Florida Institute of Technology where they became a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. Susan then went on to study Communications (public relations) with a minor in Business Administration at California State University, Fullerton and received their Bachelor of Arts (BA). After working for a few years, Susan decided to return to school to get their Master of Arts (MA) in Special Education from California State University-Sacramento. Finally, Susan completed their education with a masters in Spanish Translation and Business Administration from Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College.

They are on a team with Cody Gion - Program Director - Sam Barlow High School K-8 feeder schools, Speech Language Pathologists, Assessment & Evaluation Team, Jeff Gibbs - Executive Director of Technology Services, and Michele Cook - Executive Director of Student Support Services. Susan Dalen reports to James Hiu, Superintendent.
