Kendrick Boyd is currently a Principal Machine Learning Engineer at Gretel.ai. Kendrick has also worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Google from January 2015 to July 2021.

Boyd's first job was as a Summer Research Assistant at Lawrence University in July 2005, where they constructed and configured an 8-node cluster. In June 2006, they participated in the Research Experience for Undergraduates program at UC Santa Cruz, investigating in-flight data management for cache coherence in distributed storage systems. The following year, they interned at QuotePro Inc., working in a small team to translate business logic and user interface code from Visual FoxPro to Visual Basic 6.

Boyd's most recent position before joining Gretel.ai was as a Senior Software Engineer at Google, where they worked for six and a half years. During their time at Google, Kendrick worked on a variety of projects including developing software for the Android operating system and working on the Google Search team.

Kendrick Boyd attended Buena Vista High School before going to college. Kendrick obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Math-Computer Science from Lawrence University and a Bachelor of Music in Bassoon Performance from the same school. Kendrick then went on to get their Master of Science in Computer Sciences from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Finally, they completed their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Computer Sciences from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
