Evan Plett

Evan Plett has a diverse range of work experience spanning over 15 years. Evan is currently working as a Software Engineer at Grey Market Labs since January 2021. Before that, they were employed at Trident Systems as a Software Engineer from May 2018 to December 2020.

Starting in 2012, Evan worked as a Software Engineer at Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) for six years. In this role, they mentored junior employees, provided advice to management on business risks and opportunities, and designed high-quality software products. Evan led the design of an innovative, next-generation display system by collaborating with partner organizations and their team. Additionally, Evan developed and maintained the front-end of that system. Evan underwent a developmental program that included extensive technical and soft skills training.

Prior to NAVAIR, Evan had an Information Security Internship at Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) in 2010. In 2009, they worked as a Programming Engineer Intern at Lockheed Martin, followed by an IT Internship at the same company in 2008. During their IT Internship at Lockheed Martin, Evan contributed to the maintenance of the mission control room at a DoD test facility. Evan also enhanced the user's manual for the primary display software by updating graphics to improve clarity.

Evan's earliest work experience is as a Sales Associate at Big 5 Sporting Goods from May 2006 to June 2008.

Throughout their career, Evan has demonstrated expertise in software engineering, leadership, collaboration, and technical skills development.

Evan Plett has a diverse educational background in computer science and general education. Evan obtained their Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Computer Science with a focus on Software Engineering & Database Systems from Colorado Technical University, where they studied from 2014 to 2017. Prior to that, Evan earned their Bachelor of Science (B.S) degree in Computer Science from California State University-San Bernardino, attending from 2008 to 2011. Evan started their academic journey at Cerro Coso Community College, where they completed their Associate of Arts (AA) degree in General Education from 2001 to 2006.

In addition to their formal education, Evan Plett has also pursued various certifications to enhance their skill set. Evan obtained certifications such as Agile Software Development, Cybersecurity Foundations, Designing RESTful APIs, Docker for Developers, Gradle for Java Developers, Learning the OWASP Top 10, Polyglot Web Development, Software Architecture Foundations, and Tech Soft Skills: Moving from Developer to Engineering Manager, all from LinkedIn, in May 2020. Evan also became a Python Developer by completing a certification in February 2018. Further, they gained knowledge in Learning Data Science: Understanding the Basics, and achieved SEI Service-Based Architecture Professional Certificate and SEI Software Architecture Professional Certificate from the Software Engineering Institute | Carnegie Mellon University in December 2017.
