Sravan Bhagavatula

Sravan Bhagavatula has a diverse work experience in the field of computer vision and software development. Sravan is currently serving as the Director of Computer Vision at Greyscale AI since September 2021.

Before that, Sravan worked at Amazon for five years, from 2016 to 2021. During their tenure, they held various positions including Software Development Engineer. In this role, they worked on projects such as the Subjective Keyword Project, where they trained a model to predict subjective keywords from product images. Sravan also contributed to the Partfinder project, focusing on computer vision and image processing components for replacement part search. Additionally, they temporarily worked from India for the Partpic team.

Prior to Amazon, Sravan worked at Partpic Inc. as a Computer Vision Engineer from 2015 to 2016. Here, they implemented an accurate measurement system for estimating the size of parts using object detection, segmentation, and image processing techniques.

Before entering the industry, Sravan gained research experience as a Research Intern at The University of Houston, where they worked on a near-infrared spectroscopy project. Sravan also worked as a Grader at The University of Texas at Austin from 2009 to 2010 and as an Undergraduate Advisor from 2007 to 2008.

Sravan Bhagavatula completed their Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering at The University of Texas at Austin from 2006 to 2010. Following that, they pursued a Master of Engineering (MEng) in Signal and Image Processing at Rice University from 2010 to 2013. In addition to their formal education, they obtained a certification in Machine Learning with Python from Coursera in May 2020.
