What we’re looking for...

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for day-to-day financial accounting functions, including cash reconciliation, job cost allocations, insurance reporting, and state tax filings. This individual will manage monthly and annual close processes, oversee the Positive Pay process with the bank, and ensure compliance with financial regulations. The ideal candidate is professional, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Major expectations & accountabilities (full details in Job Description)

  • Complete monthly builders risk reporting for new and completed jobs.

  • Obtain bonds (Bidding, Payment, Performance) and Certificates of Insurance (COIs) as needed.

  • Perform daily, monthly, and yearly financial processes, including cash receipts and reconciliations.

  • Complete monthly, quarterly, and annual sales and use tax calculations, filings, and reporting.

  • Prepare and post monthly job cost allocations.

  • Prepare and manage the Positive Pay process with the bank.

  • Manage monthly and annual close processes in Sage.

  • Serve as a backup to the Payroll Specialist for processing weekly payroll.

  • Handle additional tasks and responsibilities as required by the business.

What you’ll need to be successful

  • Four (4) years' degree in finance or accounting; relevant work experience may be substituted.

  • Four (4) years of experience in a similar accounting role.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.

  • Experience with Sage 300 CRE, Procore, and TimberScan preferred but not required.

  • Results-oriented with proven ability to organize, plan, and prioritize work to meet deadlines.

  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills; communicates effectively with management, employees, and vendors.

  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.

Qualifications that can set you apart

  • 7 plus years’ experience in a Property Accountant role

  • Two (2) plus years of experience in the construction or contracting industry.

  • Experience managing complex financial processes independently.

  • Certification in accounting or financial management.

  • Demonstrated experience working in the construction or contracting industry.

  • Ability to adapt and prioritize in a dynamic work environment.
